Siri is About to Get Scary Smart: Apple, Google Gemini, and What to Expect at WWDC26

Apple confirmed Google Gemini will power the next generation of Siri and Apple Intelligence. Here are my predictions for WWDC26, taking place June 8 through 12, 2026, and details on the WWDC watch party in Downtown Oakland.

Apple has officially announced that WWDC26 will take place from Monday, June 8 through Friday, June 12, 2026. This year's Worldwide Developers Conference carries particular significance following Apple and Google's January 2026 confirmation that Google's Gemini models will serve as the foundation for the next generation of Apple Intelligence features, including a more personalized Siri.

In this video, I break down the WWDC26 announcement, what Apple is expected to unveil, and why this year's keynote could mark the most significant evolution of Siri since its original debut.

The Apple-Google Gemini Partnership

In January 2026, Apple and Google released a joint statement confirming a multi-year collaboration. Under the agreement, the next generation of Apple Foundation Models will be built on Google's Gemini models and cloud technology. These models will power future Apple Intelligence features, including what Apple describes as "a more personalized Siri coming this year."

Apple has stated that all features will continue to run on Apple devices and through Private Cloud Compute, maintaining the company's industry-leading privacy standards. The partnership does not give Google access to user data. Instead, Apple controls how and where the data is processed, pairing Google's AI capabilities with Apple's hardware, software, and privacy architecture.

According to reporting from Axios and MacRumors, the deal is reportedly worth billions of dollars annually and extends beyond Siri into broader Apple Intelligence capabilities.

What to Expect at WWDC26

Based on the Gemini partnership, Apple's public statements, and industry reporting, here is what I expect Apple to reveal during the keynote:

  • A Next-Generation Siri: With Gemini powering the underlying models, Siri is expected to become significantly more conversational, contextually aware, and capable of handling complex multi-step requests. Reports suggest the updated assistant will be able to understand what is on your screen, pull information from apps like Mail, Messages, and Calendar, and generate structured content directly inside Apple apps.
  • AI Agents Across the Ecosystem: Apple Intelligence introduced the framework. The next step is AI that acts on your behalf, reading an incoming email, drafting a contextual response, creating a calendar event, and sending a follow-up, all while preserving user privacy through on-device processing and Private Cloud Compute.
  • iOS 27 and Platform Updates: Every WWDC brings the next generation of Apple's operating systems. iOS 27 is particularly worth watching this year, especially if it ships with deeper Gemini-powered AI integration and a refreshed visual identity.
  • Private Cloud Compute Expansion: Apple's approach to running advanced AI models in the cloud while maintaining end-to-end privacy is a key differentiator. With the Gemini partnership now in place, I expect Apple to expand Private Cloud Compute capabilities and provide developers with new APIs to build intelligent features on top of it.

Why This Matters for Creators

If Apple delivers on these expectations, the implications for creators are significant. A more capable, Gemini-powered Siri opens the door to voice-driven creative workflows that actually work. AI agents reduce administrative overhead, freeing up more time for content production. A new design language creates fresh content opportunities for every tech-focused creator. And expanded developer tools mean the editing apps, social platforms, and productivity software creators rely on every day will improve as well.

As the founder of visionaryPass, I am closely watching how Apple approaches AI agents. We already use AI to support creators through their YouTube growth journey. If Apple provides stronger on-device tools and developer APIs through this Gemini partnership, that translates directly into better experiences for every creator in our community.

Why I Made This Video

WWDC coverage moves fast. Within hours of an announcement, analysis floods in from every direction. I wanted to share my perspective while the news was still fresh and connect the dots between the Gemini partnership, the WWDC26 timeline, and what this all means for Apple's AI strategy. The groundwork Apple has laid over the past year points to something substantial, and WWDC26 feels like the moment it all comes together.

WWDC26 Watch Party in Downtown Oakland

I am hosting a WWDC26 watch party in Downtown Oakland on Monday, June 8 at 9:00 AM PT. We will watch the keynote together, discuss each announcement in real time, and break down what it all means for developers and creators. Whether you build apps, create content, or simply follow Apple closely, you are welcome to join.
