Who is Justin?
I visualize the future to design a world where creativity, technology, and empathy work together to help people thrive.
I am Justin Harris, a creator, founder, and storyteller born in North Carolina. I chose a self-directed path instead of the traditional college route.
I created my first YouTube channel in 2007. I went on to scale a Tech YouTube channel beyond 600,000 subscribers where I taught people how to use the latest technology gadgets and AI apps.
In 2015, I packed everything I owned and moved across the country to Silicon Valley. I completed a year long fellowship in San Francisco designed for people who did not want an institution to define their education. That experience reinforced my belief in designing my own path to success and learning by doing.
In 2020, I built visionaryPass as an art and creative passion project. Now, it's a platform built to help creators post consistently, earn their first brand deals, and build sustainable careers. I believe the internet should expand human potential and make opportunity accessible to anyone willing to learn and create.
I currently live in Oakland, California where I am on the Board of Directors at the Oakland LGBTQ Center. I also work with Dignifi (a social impact startup in SF) where I help formerly incarcerated people re-enter society and learn how to use technology. I love being in a position where I can positively help others, provide empathy, democratize access, and do purpose-driven work.
Outside of work, my life is rooted in family and community. My partner Ross and I have been in an open relationship for 8 years and have a 2 year old son.
I enjoy watching basketball, especially the Duke Blue Devils and Golden State Warriors/Valkyries. I love walking around the city and watching Marvel movies. Iron Man is my favorite character because Jarvis and Tony Stark inspire me to build the futuristic experiences of tomorrow. Remember when chatting with a computer was only a thing you saw in movies? I love when sci-fi becomes a positive reality.
This space is my digital mind. I update it consistently. You can learn about my life, my work, or anything in between.
Stay visionary.
